Ahem.

I’ve been trying to tell folks that bringing a sitting president to Uptown is gonna mean a nice, tight security bubble over much of the 277 loop. Now comes word that the Secret Service is moving to expand the security envelope around the White House by closing more streets — and shutting down some sidewalks near the Ellipse. Specifically, both the First Division Monument and William Tecumseh Sherman Park would have restricted access.

If a 200-foot minimum buffer has become the security standard for the White House complex — can you imagine what it is gonna be for VIPs coming and going through Charlotte?
