Here’s one helluva bombshell which was successfully buried by all news media in town yesterday — a security guard assigned to the NASCAR Hall stole an undisclosed item from storage. The item has not been recovered, WSOC-TV reports here — yet does not link to its own story from its main page of dizzy, giddy happy talk on the HOF’s opening.
At this point it is not even clear if the theft has been reported to CMPD, which would create an official paper trail. Talk about keeping something on the down-low. Reminds me of all the equipment that supposedly went missing or damaged at ImaginOn after its opening, all without a peep from Official Charlotte.
Love to hear more on what is going on — and something from WSOC on why it buried its own story in a cascade of content-free infomercials for the Hall.
