That’s what WXII 12 news anchor Tolly Carr yelled to his passenger following the crash that killed Casey Bokhoven.

Meanwhile, Bokhoven’s family wants to know why no bond was set for Carr’s release. Chief Magistrate John Phillips explains:

“If it was one of my family, I would want them thrown in jail, too,” Phillips said. “It’s not to minimize the death, but the fact of the matter is here’s a person who is a recognizable face in the community, and he’s not likely to go out and do anything else. If he would have gotten a $1,000 bond, then he would have had to post the bond, and he would have been out on the street the next day anyway.”

Assistant DA Jim O’Neill didn’t comment on what additional charges, if any, would be filed against Carr. It all depends on what the blood test shows. The N&R’s Doug Clark says felony death by vehicle seems applicable in this case.

Winston-Salem could easily be looking at two high-profile trials within the next year.
