We’ve discussed the curiously unreported good news about how carbon dioxide emissions in the United States and North Carolina have been declining all century. We’ve explained how this long-sought accomplishment has come about thanks to market forces, rather than government interventions, and even without the U.S. participating in the Paris climate accords.
We’ve even shown how emissions are falling faster in the United States than in Paris agreement nations, and that recently emissions in Europe have increased.
Here’s more good news from the U.S., as spotted by reporter Lachlan Markay. The June 2018 data release from the U.S. Energy Information Administration show that carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S. are now at their lowest level since 1992.
Also, emissions per capita are their lowest level since 1950.
We didn’t need Paris. We got this.
