The way to fight global warming (err, I mean, climate change) is to enact a “planetary law, such as China’s one-child policy … to reverse the disastrous global birthrate currently, which is one million births every four days.”
A worldwide ban on having more than one child? Good luck imposing that, especially on Muslim nations.
The practical outworking would be disastreous. Liberal western nations would use the cap and have their birth rates drop even more precipitously; Muslim countries would continue to reproduce at high rates.
Besides, it’s none of the government’s business, let alone the U.N.’s, how many children a couple chooses to have ? let them to punish them for having too many.
