A Weaverville mother was offended when her son brought home a Gideon’s Bible. The child had picked it up from a box left by the Gideon Society in the school’s office. Reportedly, there was no presentation, just a request for permission to make a hit and run dropoff. That was, according to the ACLU, un-Constitutional. Case law has determined it is appropriate for organizations to drop off religious material at high schools and run without preaching; but religious organizations, as such, are not allowed on elementary school campuses at all.
