PART raises its rates:

PART’s board of directors agreed Wednesday morning to increase the rate from $50 to $60, a move expected to raise about $84,000 a year in additional revenue.

Executive director Brent McKinney corrected an earlier estimate that the regional transit agency sells about 400 such passes a month, saying the sales volume actually is closer to 700.

He said the increase, which will take effect Jan. 1, should raise enough revenue to pay for about a month of fuel used by the PART fleet.

I realize one month’s supply is a lot of fuel. But nothing compared to the other 11.
