*CJ’s Barry Smith takes a look at the 6th District Congressional race. Part 1 features Rockingham County District Attorney Phil Berger Jr., Greensboro City Council member Zack Matheny and Guilford County Commissioner Jeff Phillips;

*Flyer from Keep Conservatives United calls Matheny “The Kay Hagan Republican”;

*High Point Enterprise notes Guilford County would be without a home-based member of Congress next year —- for the first time since 1961—depending on the outcomes of the 6th and 12th Congressional races;

*Sources tell me Rep. Pricey Harrison is knocking on doors in East Greensboro, perhaps an indication that she’s feeling the competition from former Greensboro City Council member Jim Kee, who says Harrison’s environmental record has come at the expense of a plan to help revitalize that part of District 57. Lot of Harrison signs here in tony Fisher Park —doubtful Rep. Harrison will knock on my door, but if she does, maybe I can get the interview she bowed out of after we’d set it up;

*House Speaker Thom Tillis inches closer to the magic 40 percent mark in the latest Civitas poll;

*PPP poll has Tillis at 46 percent, but that’s just the opinion of a bunch of ignorant Republicans who want to take us back to the 19th century.
