I was busy watching the primary returns last night, so I forgot to tune into last night’s Greensboro City Council meeting. Evidently there was some theater:

Five people were arrested during the City Council meeting Tuesday night after a peaceful protest in City Hall.

..The protesters, from a group called the Spirit of the Sit-In Movement, took over the council dais during a break in the council meeting. The group was protesting what they called a “subculture of corruption” in the police department.

Five protesters, who would not disperse as requested, were arrested. They were each charged with one count of trespassing.

David Hoggard notes Nelson Johnson’s desire for a proper audience for theater, but obviously the rev. didn’t look at his calendar and realize most people would be focused on the primary.

Meanwhile, the council vote to lend the Nussbaum Center $1.2 million passed without incident.
