For the time being, Hannity will air in the WSJS’ afternoon drive time slot while new programming director Brian Freeman settles in following Beth Ann McBride’s unceremonious departure. WSJS says Freeman will do a talk show, but hasn’t announced the format or the time slot. It’s a reasonable assumption it’ll be in the 3-6 slot, though.
Afternoon drive time has spelled death here in the Triad for more than a few talk show hosts in rencent years. Dusty Dunn. Mike Fenley. I remember a guy over the late-but-not-so-great Ticket tried a local afternoon sports talk show and lasted maybe a month. Even Brad Krantz fell flat at WKEW before finding success at WBT in Charlotte and eventually returning to the Greensboro market at WTZK.
Medved’s my preferred afternoon listening. I can audio stream here at home, but I can’t get him in the car.
