Figuratively speaking, considering the fact that Guilford County Commissioner Billy Yow considers tax increases a vice among elected officials.

But Yow hasn’t given up on the idea of a sales tax hike following the defeat of the quarter-cent tax hike during last week’s primary. He wants legislators to consider allowing Guilford County to levy an additional 1-cent sales tax to help pay for the construction-related bond debt after voters approved four of the five bonds on the ballot, including $457 million in school bonds.
