Matt Drudge is rightly famous for breaking the Monica Lewinsky story, which was being held by TIME. But there was little chance of anyone dying because of that revelation. Not so, though, with his big scoop today about Prince Harry being on the front lines in Afghanistan.
The UK press had agreed to hold the story until Harry’s tour was over, so it was like shooting Taliban in a barrel for Drudge to get the scoop. But he sold his soul for it, as far as I’m concerned.
The media being what it is, I wouidn’t be surprised to find that some Brit tabloid leaked it to Drudge so the embargo could be broken.
