Lefty Durhamites like to moan and groan about what they see as Duke’s elitist attitude and the reluctance of Gown to be part of the Town, but face it, without it this town would be a forgotten old mill town.

A lot of anti-Duke sentiment surfaced during the Duke lacrosse hoax, all of it on the left fringe. Maybe they should think twice next time about bashing the institution that makes Durham special to the rest of the world.
