Even our thieves are stupid. Seems some Durham bad guys are cutting catalytic converters off cars as they sit parked in used car lots, garage lots and regular parking lots. Apparently there are some precious metals in the converters. And apparently it’s happening only in Durham. Raleigh reports no instances. But just how much precious metal is in these things? Not much according to this guy:
“That’s a lot of work for a couple bucks,” said Steve McCleary, owner of Steve’s Auto Repair & Muffler in Raleigh. “That’s stupid.”
