I bought dinner from a Durham Chick-fil-A last night. The place was so jammed that an employee was directing traffic in the parking lot, into the drive-thru, and into the restaurant itself. Inside, the restaurant was also jammed with families. The employee who took my order said business had boomed all day long. My goal in stopping by Chick-fil-A was two-fold. First, to show my support for the right to free speech. And second, to show my alarm at those who seek to silence and/or cast as haters those who don’t agree with them– all under the guise of “tolerance.” What the Left really wants to impose, of course, is endorsement of their views, not tolerance.
I was not alone in my support for free speech and real tolerance.
