An article in the latest print edition of National Review titled “The Paranoid Style in American Parenting” features the following quip:
The CPS [Child Protective Services] worker “generally undertook the role of grand inquisitress with zeal that would make Mike Nifong blush,” Matt Brown, an attorney assisting the mother, wrote about the case.
The reference would not have been surprising had it involved an incident in Durham circa 2006. Nine years later? In Silver Spring, Maryland? That’s another story.
