The Wake County Public School System is again facing the ire of parents over its reassignment policy after hundreds were notified that their children will be moved from a neighborhood school in north Raleigh to a temporary modular school in Wake Forest. Some parents claim the Wake Forest site isn’t safe, while others want to know why their kids are being forced out of their Wakefield neighborhood when the developer has offered the school system free land within the development. This Sunday, NBC 17’s “At Issue,” co-hosted by Donna Martinez, features the debate between upset parents and representatives of the Wake Forest area, who feel their community has been unfairly tagged as unsafe and in disrepair.
