Early voting begins later this week in Orange County, part of which is located in the 6th Congressional District. Orange County issued the following news release about when and where to vote. The Republican candidates for the 6th District seat are Phil Berger Jr. and Mark Walker.
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (July 1, 2014)—The Orange County Board of Elections is announcing qualified Orange County residents who wish to vote early in the July 15, 2014, Second Primary Election, may do so at the Board of Elections office located at 208 S. Cameron Street in Hillsborough.
There is a countywide Democratic election for Sheriff and a Republican election for U.S. House District 6.
The Board of Elections office will open for one-stop voting on Thursday, July 3, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The office will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the July 4th holiday. The office will reopen for early voting on Monday, July 7 through Saturday, July 12. The hours of operation will be Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
On Election Day, July 15, all polling sites will be open from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Voters who voted a Republican or Democratic ballot in the May Primary must vote the same party ballot in the Second Primary
Any registered Republican, Democrat or Unaffiliated voter who did not vote in the May Primary may vote in the Second Primary, if eligible to do so. Democrats and Republicans must vote the ballot of the party with which they are registered. Unaffiliated voters may choose.
Any voter who voted a Libertarian ballot or a Non-Partisan ballot in the May Primary is not eligible to vote in the Second Primary.
