Outgoing N.C. Gov. Mike Easley surprised pundits and political observers by signing an executive order in his final days addressing a lawsuit over retention of state government e-mail records. Carolina Journal is a plaintiff in the suit. Another plaintiff, the News & Observer, interviewed John Locke Foundation President John Hood to get his perspective on Easley’s move. Hood’s comments also appeared in other newspapers, including the Charlotte Observer, Winston-Salem Journal, and Burlington Times-News. CJ Executive Editor Don Carrington also discussed Easley’s actions during a Thursday morning appearance on WPTF Radio’s morning show.
