The controversy surrounding former Gov. Mike Easley and former First Lady Mary Easley continues to generate media appearances for Carolina Journal Executive Editor Don Carrington, who first shed light on the Easleys’ dubious actions three years ago. Carrington discussed the latest developments this week with the WPTF Radio morning show and with Matt Mittan’s “Take A Stand Show” on WWNC in Asheville. The Rhino Times‘ John Hammer cited Carrington’s CJ work in a column this week that mentioned the Easley scandal, as did The Raleigh Telegram. A blog tied to Charlotte’s Creative Loafing highlighted a video clip of Carrington discussing questions linked to Mary Easley’s salary at N.C. State University. In addition to Carrington’s work, Paul Chesser of Climate Strategies Watch highlighted Easley’s problems in an American Spectator article, while CJ Associate Editor David Bass discussed both Easley and disgraced former U.S. Sen. John Edwards in a column for TownHall.com. Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor also discussed what he calls the “Mary Easley mess” during an appearance with Tara Servatius on WBT Radio’s afternoon rush hour program. (Taylor returns to WBT Radio at 5 p.m. today for a “Charlotte free for all,” and he also discussed with WBTV this week the likely departure of a top Charlotte Transit official).
