As the scandal swirling around former Gov. Mike Easley grows, John Locke Foundation experts are helping the media make sense of the story. After Carolina Journal Executive Editor Don Carrington recorded an hourlong program on Easley’s questionable record with Don Curtis for the Curtis Media Group’s “Carolina Newsmakers” program last week, WPTF Radio decided to air that program multiple times last weekend. Carrington also returned to WPTF Saturday to take part in a special two-hour program on Easley. WPTF afternoon talk show host Bill LuMaye also welcomed Carrington to the airwaves Monday afternoon. While Carrington was chatting with LuMaye, John Locke Foundation President John Hood discussed the same topic on WBT Radio with Tara Servatius. Hood and Vice President for Communications Jon Ham also discussed Easley, along with Ham’s recent work on media bias, during an appearance with Scott Carr on State Government Radio’s “People and Politics” program. In addition to the radio coverage, the Beaufort Observer cited this week Carolina Journal‘s work on developing the Easley story.
