George Leef’s November review of two publications that focus on economic freedom and prosperity has been picked up from The Freeman and published in The Public Interest Institute’s Facts and Opinions. In his piece, Leef noted that both Economic Freedom of the World and Index of Economic Freedom link economic freedom with standards of living around the world. Americans take their standard of living for granted, he wrote. Still, as good as things are, 2004 Americans are less free than their counterparts from 100 years ago due to growth in taxes, laws and regulations.
