Today is September 2. The hilarious, fun-loving street theatre folks at “Atlas Shrugged – Part I” (the movie) sent out the following in a spammer:

“A white rectangle hung over the city, imparting the date to the men in the streets below. In the rusty light of this evening’s sunset, the rectangle said: September 2.”
– Ayn Rand, “Atlas Shrugged”

You didn’t think we were going to let this day just slip by did you?

I remember earlier this year, I was tempted to attend a fundraiser that Philip Rearden was putting on for Friends of Global Awareness. The latest of the reasons of the brainchildren behind and in the movie to celebrate is the release of the movie “Atlas Shrugged – Part I” on DVD. Maybe you could do the Organizing for America thing and invite your neighbors over to discuss its relevance – or would that be too brain-washy?

Also of interest to those who fear Ayn Rand wrote the playbook for those succeeding in ruing the economy is the book I Am John Galt. I just started reading it today. It sounds like a bit of madness playing up the similarities between today’s heroes (who make order out of chaos) and villains (who make campaign contributions out of industry). I think I am going to like it.
