The Taylorsville Times also reprinted a press release featuring Stoops’ assessment of the unprecedented growth among public school personnel in North Carolina. Speaking of school personnel growth, that was one of the topics of discussion as N.C. Education Alliance Director Lindalyn Kakadelis appeared on the WBT Radio morning show Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Monroe Enquirer-Journal published a piece from Carolina Journal columnist Andy Taylor promoting merit pay for teachers. On the higher-education front, The Wall Street Journal published a letter from JLF Research Intern Alex Pitsinos that takes aim at misguided efforts to boost the number of people attending college.
