John Mellencamp’s “This is Our Country” is playing. It makes Edwards’ entrance seem like a truck commercial.

“Two races down. Forty-eight states left to go.”

Says 99 percent-plus of Americans haven’t voted. Talks about they need their voices heard. Too many people in America aren’t heard, blah, blah, blah. Talking about that girl who wasn’t approved for a liver transplant by her insurance company. Now talking about a man with a cleft palate who didn’t have any health insurance. Says someone voluntarily fixed his cleft palate at the age of 52. Says this shouldn’t happen in America.

Now talking about veterans sleeping under a bridge or over a grate, homeless.

Man, this guy is a one-trick pony. Just bow out already.

Says we’re at a crossroad in America. Says issues are universal health care, attacking global warming, ending poverty, standing up for American jobs.

Every Man a King!! Huey Long would be proud.

Now he’s sucking up to the unions, hoping for their help in the other 48 states, I guess. “I am in this race to the convention.” “I am in this race until we have actually restored the American Dream.” What? So socialism is the American Dream?

Now he’s off hugging people.

LATER: Bill Kristol on Brit Hume’s panel on Fox News says he’ll get less than 10 percent of the vote and he’s just going to stay in and waste taxpayer dollars. That woman from the Boston Globe whose husband works for Romney says people wonder why he would stay in with his wife fighting cancer, but she says this is as much something Elizabeth Edwards wants as John does.
