John Edwards has hired foul-mouthed lib-lefty anti-war blogger Amanda Marcotte as his blogmaster. She says she will be moving to Chapel Hill, where she should feel right at home, it being a lefty college town and all. Here’s proof:
My obsessions in politics include women’s rights, ending the war in
Iraq, environmentalism, and restoring the American dream where climbing
out of poverty and having a middle class lifestyle is an option
available to everyone.
Why John Edwards? Well, look again at that list of political obsessions and you have your answer.
I notice, though, that she didn’t drop any F-bombs, as was her wont when she was blogging for the nutroots and not for a presidential candidate. It’s going to be hard for Edwards to sell himself as some kind of centrist while hiring the most wacky of the nutroot fringes to be on his campaign staff.
UPDATE: Marcotte has airbrushed the post that I linked to above. Here’s what she said:
UPDATE: Since people are determined to make hay over this quick shot of
a post, I?m deleting it and here?s my official stance. The prosecution
in the Duke case fumbled the ball. The prosecutor was too eager to get
a speedy case and make a name for himself. That is my final word.
Cowardly is the only word to use here. Airbrushing is a top-of-the-line no-no in the blogosphere and John Edwards’ blogmaster begins her campaign career by doing just that.
