Democrats uncovered and then held on to nasty, disgusting “instant messages” sent by Republican Congressman Foley to teenage pages in order to spring an October surprise on the GOP desperate to maintain control of the U.S. House, and whispers underneath the tinfoil are that they may even have used young male pages to “set up” the congressman, whose real problem was just alcohol.

To counter, the GOP’s “ACME Gasoline Price Setter,” working in concert with Big Oil, had to drop prices even further, with oil futures prices falling below $60/barrel for the first time since mid-February (the current price of $58.70 for NYMEX crude at 14:30 today is nearly $20/barrel cheaper than it was in mid-Juy). Gasoline futures prices are at their lowest levels since mid-February also. I am, of course, making fun of both conspiracy theories.
