While 1st District Rep. G.K. Butterfield remains, according to the News & Observer, “the only Democrat in the state who has agreed to hold a town hall,” 2nd District Rep. Bob Etheridge will appear at a town hall tonight in Lillington sponsored by the State Employees Association of North Carolina, the state’s affiliate of the Service Employees International Union.

It’ll be interesting to see how tightly the “sponsors” will control who gets in and who gets to ask questions. After all, President Obama’s town hall in New Hampshire Tuesday had the spontaneity of an infomercial.
