So, Bob Etheridge wasn’t trying to take a moderate position on taxes and the marriage amendment after all. Turns out it was just a flub.

In his first press conference of the Democrats’ gubernatorial primary, Etheridge waffled when asked whether he supported or opposed a sales-tax increase and the marriage amendment, avoiding taking a clear position on either issue. On Monday, Etheridge clarified that he supports restoring three-fourths of the 1-cent sales tax increase and that he opposes the marriage amendment (though he said he also opposes same-sex marriage).

Not a great start for the former congressman from the 2nd District.
