The last 18 months have been a monumental challenge for school-aged kids and their parents. Moms and dads have gotten a new appreciation for how their kids learn and how they interact with teachers and classmates. Armed with more knowledge about their kids’ interests, challenges, aptitudes, and unique traits, more parents are looking for personalized education opportunities. What they’re discovering is that North Carolina has a robust slate of choices and resources. In this conversation, we’ll talk with advocates and researchers who are working to empower parents with the tools to customize education and find out how choice can address pandemic-induced learning loss and reinvigorate a child’s interest in learning.
