The 2020 election is barely a memory, but the new election season is already underway. Questions loom over U.S. Census data and the redrawing of districts, when/if municipal elections will be held, and the status of requiring a photo I.D. to vote. But what we do know about North Carolina’s election season is this: where Republicans control the seats and representation, Democrats are eyeing a takeover. And in places where Democrats have the upper hand, Republicans are preparing for battle. In this conversation we’ll get an update on open questions from Locke’s election analyst Andy Jackson, and we’ll hear from two of our state’s most respected analysts about the political dynamics, demographics, and personalities that will drive voters to the polls.
