The North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship: Initial Findings from and Future Directions for an Independent Evaluation

During this session, Trip Stallings and Stephen Porter will share background information about the history of North Carolina’s Opportunity Scholarship, a demographic overview of the participating student population, and findings from two years of statewide surveys of parents and headmasters. In addition, they will provide an update on their progress toward an analysis of student academic gains, as well as a review of the challenges to conducting a comprehensive evaluation of this initiative.
