Retired WCU Chancellor John Bardo will be collecting $280,000 this year for a research project for the university. Bardo claims he has a model for successfully predicting observed statistics among the fifty states “concerning the relationships between higher education, the economy, and community development.”

Sorry. It sounds like a mish-mash of hogwash. Economist used to refer to such things as nailing jelly to the wall. Molecules obey statistics. People use their free agency to cope, adapt, outsmart, and rebel. I dare say the Golden Age of Science, responsible for the Industrial Revolution, is passed. Civilization went from the superstitious Dark Ages, through an Age of Enlightenment, and now it finds itself stymied and confused through misapplications of the scientific method to human affairs.

P.S. The terms are so vague, anything is bound to fall within specified uncertainties for predicted outcomes. C’mon. The community development score was 14.61896, and 23.2868% of white females had higher education, therefore we need only find an equation that defines the economy as 206.82315. Perhaps I misunderstand.
