There’s an effort in Durham to get a grilled-cheese food truck on the streets. On the surface, that’s great. Some entrepreneur staking some capital on a risky adventure is laudable. But this is different. It’s lefty Durham’s approach to entrepreneurship: socialist, collective, multi-culti, ideological, environmentalist, and aimed at “positive social change.” And it’s all backed by some of Durham’s “envisioned by local change makers,” whatever that means.
Kids working on the bus will learn “culinary skills, teamwork and financial literacy,” all the things they’d learn by getting a job at a McDonald’s.
