Joe Sinsheimer is continuing his fine work, chronicled at JimBlackMustGo.com, in delving into the labyrinthine connections between the House Speaker?s political organization and his public actions. In today?s Charlotte Observer, reporter Mark Johnson lays out the latest set of discoveries involving the now infamous Teapot Museum in Sparta. In addition to questions about political donors? undue influence over state decisions, Sinsheimer made a rather Lockean point about the project itself:

Sinsheimer questioned why [Phillip] Hanes or the Kamms [Sonny & Gloria] couldn’t have funded the museum.

“Here you have a project that has two benefactors who are multimillionaires,” said Sinsheimer. “You’d think they could have financed this project without coming to state taxpayers with hat in hand.”
