When the overwhelmingly statist imbalance among college professors is pointed out, the usual response from the education establishment is to say something like, “Professors are mature, sensible, fair people who don’t let their personal opinions get in the way of their excellent teaching.”

Not always.

Consider an exam in Sociology 206 (“Social Deviance” which appears to deal more with conservatives than criminals) given recently at NC State. Here’s one of the questions: “Over the last twenty years, the U.S. has experienced the most dramatic economic and political change of the post-World War II era. This change has contributed to a wave of elite deviance that is virtually out of control (deregulation, lax enforcement, little accountability to the public). True or False?

The exam has many other very tendentious questions calling for the student to agree with the prof’s leftist thoughtworld.
