Some Locker Roomies have heard the story directly from me, or perhaps in mutated form via the grapevine. Nearly 20 years ago, I ran over myself with my own car. That’s why I still have a metal plate in my right arm.

I now have two additional things to say about all this. First off, I finally have someone within the JLF office to blame for my injuries: Jon Ham. It turns out that I ran over myself on the first day of a paper route I took on in Chapel Hill for the Durham Morning Herald. Jon worked there at the time. I blame him.

Second, I am officially no longer the only person you have heard about running over himself with his own car. So no more disbelieving stares.
