I’m waiting for the hysterical “fake Constitution” reaction in the mainstream media after it was disclosed that Obama gave his “love a terrorist” speech today in front of a fake U.S. Constitution. Just kidding. There won’t be, nor should there be, such a reaction. The real Constitution could not be subjected to bright TV lights. Logical explanation. Entirely reasonable.

But remember the “fake turkey” controversy that haunted George W. Bush for years after his surprise Thanksgiving visit to Iraq? Bush was shown holding a huge turkey on a tray in wire photos. The New York Times called it a “fake” turkey, and though they later corrected their absurd error, the meme was set. Every lefty fringe blogger went with it.

What he was holding, though was a display turkey that the mess hall used as a decoration for the holiday meal. Anyone who has been in the service, which disqualifies nearly all member of the media, knows that this is a mess hall tradition.

The elite, Ivy-league educated media nerds at the Times couldn’t grasp the difference between fake and display, though. Or they refused to. In any event, they dishonestly ran with it, knowing the effect it would have. Putzes.
