Kids that have a Michael Moore-ian body type are not necessarily dumber, according to a new NBER report, “Effects of Weight on Children’s Educational Achievement” by Robert Kaestner and Michael Grossman.

The authors concluded,

Our results suggest that, in general, children who are overweight or obese have achievement test scores that are about the same as children with average weight. … Our results also challenge the conclusions of the National Education Association that cited discriminatory practices as a cause of poor educational outcomes of obese children.
