Take a look at all the federal money thrown at North Carolina in 2005 — and where it went. To motels, Sonic Drive-Ins, and Dunkin’ Donuts. In all, some $35 billion dollars worth of stuff.

Of that total the biggest chunk is $12 billion is flood insurance, even more than the $7 billion in Social Security payments. What the hell is going on there?

There should be no federal flood insurance program — none, zippy, nada.

No wonder our interstates are crap — we are spending money on junk.
