WCNC reports that the FBI is finally poking around Mecklenburg County’s bizarre habit of paying taxicab companies millions of dollars a year to haul welfare recipient around. This never passed the smell test. In fact, there are two outs for those in charge of cutting checks from DSS to the cab companies: Resign because they are grossly incompetent or cop a plea.
But this being Mecklenburg County, someone will probably get a golden parachute when they resign.
