Feminists in Iceland have decided that large breasts and beauty are social constructs and that wrinkles and saggy breasts can be just as beautiful. As Ace said in a post today, good luck with that. Organizer Matthhildur Helgadottir says she is planning an alternative beauty pageant that allows men as well as women to compete.

“Anyone can make the rules about what beauty is, we want to change the
rules,” one of the contest’s organisers, Matthhildur Helgadottir, told
AFP.

“We think it’s just coincidence if you have big breasts. How come this
is beautiful? We are trying to show how ridiculous this is,”
Helgadottir said.

A few years ago I was on a plane from Moscow that had to make an emergency landing in Reykjavik. I must say, I didn’t see an unattractive woman the whole eight hours I was in Iceland. Even the snack bar counter employees looked like the non-alternative Miss Iceland in the photo on the right. Maybe that explains why only five people ? two of them men ? have signed up so far for Helgadottir’s alternative pageant.
