In response to North Carolina’s success using eBay to sell an unused ferry, Washington state will auction online two ferries that haven’t operated since 2003. North Carolina could not get $200,000 for the Corolla ferry. Washington hopes to sell its boats for close to $9 million combined. Local governments in that state have already expressed interest.
