I’m not sure where Democrats such as Rep. Alma Adams, who said they were “taking care of our fiscal responsibilities,” are getting their sense of self-congratulation after approving the $21.3 billion state budget last night, considering the fact that they borrowed $857 million to go toward construction of college classrooms.

Commander Hood is wise to that ‘hula hoop in the corner.’

I also find it amazing that Greensboro City Council member Dianne Bellamy-Small, herself a former GPD officer, seemed eager to pass each and every bond on the $200 million package last night right before consultant Carroll Buracker told the council to hire more cops.

Somehow I have the feeling that, in spite of Buracker’s $249,000 recommendation, hiring the new officers down road will be like pulling teeth. And everyone will wonder why.
