Gov. Mike Whatshisname today told reporters that he preferred to keep the $200 million a year a “temporary” quarter-cent sales tax sends to Raleigh. Whatshisname added that the money could be spent to hoodwink and bamboozle the easily confused ahead of elections in 2008.
Failing that, other spending options include throwing the money into the sea near his ocean-front home and making a big bonfire with bales of money on steps of the Capitol building. The governor suggested that perhaps a lottery could be held to determine which of the three options is selected.
