Historically, debates have been an opportunity for candidates for Asheville City Council or the Board of Buncombe County Commissioners to be asked questions like:

• What’s your stance on the Kyoto Protocol?
• Are you pro-choice or pro-life?
• What will you do to improve education in our schools?

Answers instill in citizens the need to educate their leaders. Normally, candidates want to promise big things like prosperity through corporate welfare and nice houses for everybody.

To help put government in its place, the JLF has created a brochure asking several questions intended to get people back into the groove of thinking about limited government.
