Here’s what I think about racism.
Evil people know they cannot seduce many of us with ugly faces and torture devices. They could kill a martyr here and there, but grand power grabs require the contortion of minds on a massive scale. Racism is something all but the certifiably crazy among us abhor. We therefore use it to garner public sanction of, say, forcing a guy to give up his business. We are all sinners. This one might be racist. That one might hang out at the sleaze clubs or drink to excess. It is, after all, difficult to believe the hundreds of thousands of children involved in kiddie porn are being exploited by one or two guys. If we can warm the public to the idea that it is OK to take what we want from this guy because he is not a perfect person, think of what we can take down the road!
