Supporters of this kind of over-the-top regulation believe they must protect all of us from ourselves — the classic nanny-state mindset that says we’re too dumb to make decisions for ourselves so the government must step in to do it for us. The common sense approach of course — and one that honors and respects individual freedom and responsibility for life’s many decisions — is for every American to decide for themselves what is the “right” kind of food to eat and then be responsible for that decision. In other words, be adults.
