The state Department of Health and Human Services said Friday it mailed 48,752 Medicaid cards to the wrong people.
The mistake is the latest in a string of errors and controversies at the agency under Republican leadership, said Minority Leader Sen. Martin Nesbitt, D-Asheville.
The Asheville Citizen-Times believes the problems occurred because Health Department Secretary Aldona Wos raised funds for Governor Pat McCrory. Not only that, she contracted with a consultant who formerly worked for her husband and contributed to the governor’s campaign as well. Personally, I believe the problem is because the grocer of the dog walker of the second cousin of Tim Moffitt voted for Nixon.
