We learned earlier today that state Sen. Richard Stevens, R-Wake, had retired from his post. He didn’t run for re-election, so we knew he wasn’t coming back next year.
Now we know why he’s retiring. He is jointing the Smith Anderson law firm.
The firm sent out a press releasing announcing Stevens’ addition. He will advise the firm’s clients on a number of matters, “including economic development, state and local regulatory issues, land use, local government law, government contracting, bond financing and state policy issues,” the release says.
